iTunes, iPods and Podcasts

« on: July 13, 2009, 07:06:20 PM »
What is iTunes?
iTunes is a free application for Mac and PC. It plays all your digital music and video. It syncs content to your iPod, iPhone, and Apple TV.

What is a podcast?
A podcast is content (similar to a radio show) that can be downloaded to and listened on a computer or iPod--hence the name. Video podcasts also exist, but not as popular.

What is an iPod?

Thousands of podcasts in dozens of categories make for a smorgasbord of entertainment. And it’s all free. Simply find the podcasts you want, click Subscribe, and voilà! You get the most recent episode — and all future episodes — delivered directly to your iTunes library. You can also download past episodes by clicking the Get Episode button.

From Pregnancy to PHP, ABC News to This Week in Science, there's a podcast for them all.

Get started by downloading iTunes. Then, find a podcast you like, such as the hourly CNN News Update, or the occasional This week in YouTube. Finally, if you have an iPod or iPhone, sync your podcasts and listen to them on the go. Shows are removed from your playlist once you've finished listening to them.
